R1100GS/R1150GS System
Formed stainless steel mounting brackets are available for mounting the Tool-Tube™ to the R1100GS, R1150GS, and R1150GS Adventure models, complete with hardware and band clamps. There are various types of brackets, depending on mounting position and which pannier system you may have mounted onto your bike. The different bracket types are outlined below, as well as pannier compatibility.
Center Mount
This mount is specifically for the R1150 GS Adventure. Very clean looking. The center mount bracket attaches directly to the rear pannier mounting locations on the bike frame, and shares that point with your pannier system by resting between the bike’s frame and the pannier bracket itself. The bracket does not interfere with the pannier bracket installation. The center mount bracket places the Tool-Tube in a transverse position under the rear fender, completely clear of wheel travel, even under full compression, and in a secure and discreet location. Depending on which side of the bike you position the end cap, and pannier type, you may locate the end cap to limit access unless the panniers are removed from the bike.
The center mount bracket fits the R1150GS Adventure model, with factory BMW or Touratech pannier systems, and bikes without pannier systems as well. This is a very popular mount! A small slot (5/8" x 1/8") must be drilled in the rear fender directly below each of the two rear-most pannier mounting points. A very simple 10-minute operation for a hand drill!
Right Side Mount
The right side mount bracket suspends the tube from the motorcycle frame and/or the pannier frame itself, placing the Tool-Tube between the pannier and the motorcycle frame, clear of any swing arm movement, and also in a secure and discreet location. Access is available with the panniers on or off of the bike.
The right side bracket only fits the R1100GS, R1150GS and R1150GS Adventure models without a tank vent filter canister (see note #2 below), and some pannier systems. See the table below for availability.
Rear Rack Mount

For the 1150 Adventure, in addition to the center and right side mounts, we have a billet aluminum rear mount system that suspends a Tool-Tube just beneath the BMW rear aluminum pannier rack. This mount requires drilling and countersinking two 8mm holes through the plastic rack, through which billet aluminum mounting blocks are bolted to the underside of the rack using two 8mm flat head stainless steel bolts. The resulting mount is very secure, and does not obstruct any rear lighting.

All tubes are clear anodized. Satin black powder coat on the tube and/or end cap is available as an option. Band clamps are included when the tube is purchased with a mounting kit.

Important ordering information (domestic/international)
Notes
- Right side mount is not available for R11XXGS models with the BMW plastic pannier system, Jesse pannier systems (at this time), or for bikes that have the gas tank vent filter canister in place.
- We are not suggesting that you remove your gas tank vent filter canister. We are simply noting that some bikes do not have this canister installed or have had a canisterectomy, and are providing a storage solution for the available space.
