1989 Range Rover Classic

Back in 1989, Papa decided it was time to buy his dream truck! Of course at the time it was not considered the Rover ‘Classic’ that it is known as today. Being the expert painter that he is, it quickly changed from the undesirable factory red to silver and stayed that way for almost 20 years. After decades of enjoyment, the paint inevitably started to peel from sun damage and the engine had accumulated a whopping 460,000 miles! Yes, I said almost half a million miles. The engine was known to be bullet proof but he had no idea it was THAT reliable.

3 out of the 8 cylinder sleeves eventually started moving with the pistons but somehow it still ran. We saw this as an opportunity to make a few adjustments during the restoration:

  • 4.6L Crate Motor (From England)

  • Custom Engine ECU

  • Old Man Emu 2.5 Lift with Bilstein Shock and Steering Stabilizer

  • All Urethane Suspension Bushings

  • Limited-Slip Rear Axle

  • Custom Radius Arms

  • Custom Exhaust with Low-Restriction Borla Catalytic Converters

  • Fresh Land Rover British Green Paint

  • Restored Original Leather Interior and New Carpet
